Ghetto Shoes & Pimped Out Crocs

Reilly and I made a quick trip to the mall this afternoon to pick up some new shoes to wear with her Easter outfit.
She was planning on wearing these...

her favorite pair of tennis shoes that she and Aunt Debbie picked out one weekend when I was sick in bed at home.
On a side note, Aunt Debbie is now barred from taking the kids shopping. Evidently, she feels it is ok to let my girls select shoes that are totally ghetto (don't tell Sydney I used that term).
Anyway, we agreed that these cute little Chuck Taylors would more appropriately complete her outfit...

While we were at the mall, she asked if she could also get a new pair of Crocs, as hers were getting too small.
I agreed, as long as she promised not to "pimp" them out as she did her previous pair.

On another note, my friend, Jules, reminded me of a baptism incident that took place a few years ago.
All I have to say is that I may or may not have been present when a Babe Ruth was placed into the baptism tank:o
Have a great Monday!!!! TTFN

Awwwwwwww....Chuck Taylors! I wore those all through Junior High...I swear I had 10 pairs of them...but this was in the SEVENTIES, mind you!

I can't wait to see the Easter Outfit, now. :)

I took Baylee (11) shopping for shoes yesterday. THe ones she liked looked like the first one you showed...I didn't know they were ghetto. I just thought they were way too bright and didn't look good. They remind me of the seventies for some reason. If she's wearing shoes like that for Easter, then she must be like Baylee, whose nemesis is dressing up. Sparkly tennis shoes are as dressy as she goes. Sigh. I keep wondering if she'll wear a bedazzled pair of rhinestone jeans and sneakers at her own wedding someday.

Ah, yes. The Cadyshack pool scene!
I thought I recognized you!

Great idea. I may try that at our next baptism service.

Blessings.

And not a mini Babe Ruth. The full sized one. You are the ONLY person I know who would leave a fake "floater" in the baptismal pool. Seriously, a Babe Ruth....the ultimate fake poo.

My Chuck Taylor's were red...a school color. Now I think that if I had a pair...I would choose pink.

Hey girl!
You asked what adhesive I use to attach ribbon to my page. I use the Ad Tech Glue runner. I got it at Walmart. It's light blue plastic and they sell refills in packs of two for a good price. It really is strong. It holds buttons firmly and doesn't show under ribbon. The only thing I can't do with it is attach vellum, but then again, I've never found adhesive that doesn't show through vellum, so I only attach that with eyelets or brads. My sis in law was admiring the smooth way it works, and how great it is for ribbon when we scrapped together at her house this weekend. She told me she's been scrapping for years and almost everything she's tried shows bumps or something through ribbon. I've never had that problem with this.

I keep thinking Mork and Mindy when I see those shoes! My 5 1/2 year old picks out some verrrrry interesting outfits. This is why I'm thankful our county approved a school dress code this year.

I like the first pair best b/c they are shiny. Whatever happened to the Mary Jane's that we had to wear at Easter?

I kinda like the way she decked out the crocs, shows individuality(or maybe a lack of it if all are doing it): the Easter shoe problems here seems to be whether to get your boots at L.L. Bean or a chain store:)
