The Effects of Media on the American Tween

I was laying in bed watching America's Next Top Model with Reilly (my 11 year old), when the following conversation took place...

Reilly: I have a confession to make.
Me: Oh?
Reilly: I'm actually 72.
Me: Well, you look pretty darn good for your age.
Reilly: It's the plastic surgery.

exactly right.....we are all guilty of allowing the media to create 'beauty' which are only illusions...and i am right there, too. it's a tough cycle to break! and, i love the show next top model, too! we catch the marathons and watch it all day and night! :0
