Big Surf & Barf

On Wednesday, we made our almost annual trek to the water park at the Lake of the Ozarks. Julie's daughter had earned a free admission by reading a number of books for her school. I'm still lamenting over the fact that our school doesn't offer this incentive program, because this little jaunt cost us a fortune!

Anyway, the day before, we had been closely monitoring the weather because storms were forecasted in the area. After waking to dark cloudy skies, we decided to make the trip anyway. We figured that if we got rained out, we could always head to the outlet mall located in the area;)

Luckily, the weather held and we were able to enjoy six hours of water slides and wave pools. At around 3:00, Reilly was knocked in the head by an inner tube which caused her to lose her footing. When she tried to stand up, she was hit by a few waves and wound up swallowing half the pool (ok, I'm exaggerating here). She did, however, drag herself to shore, where she promptly vomited all over the pool deck:o

As we exited the park, the skies opened up, and it rained all the way home. The timing couldn't have been more perfect!

R. on the (not so) lazy river...

Julie thought I was trying to get a photo of her, but I was really trying to snap a picture of the heavily tattooed dude behind her;)

Flushed Away...

Zambezi Falls:
I've been on this one a few times, but chose to forgo it this year...the memories of whiplash that I received a few years ago, still fresh in my mind (ok, there was also an unfortunate incident involving my head, a concrete wall, and the backstroke that occurred right about the same time).

So relaxed, you would think that R. was on the Lazy River...

About to drop 4 stories, and G's still smiling...

Although S. has braved ZF in the past, this trip she chose to watch ZF from this location (smart girl, isn't she?)...

Julie's daughter, D., proved to be an anomaly this trip. She was uninterested in any of the "thrill" rides, but you should have seen this girl in the midst of the scary scary wave pool. Huge waves, tons of people, inner tubes crashing into her, and there she stood with the biggest grin on her face the entire time...go figure:)

You all just have the mostest fun!

Thanks for sharing about the barf.

I wonder how that affected your rating?

Blessings.

What fun! I agree, it would be great is CPS would offer an incentive like this! It would cost us a fortune to go, too. But what are summers for!

You gotta love those waterparks; minus the puke of course; and perhaps the overcrowdedness; yet, I'd rather go fishing.

EE.... you are the lucky winner of re-naming my blog! don't you feel special?

btw.. did i mention when my kid went to the church carnival here in town about a month or so ago... called me early to pick her up... and barfed ALL over my car within three minutes of getting in?
she had never ridden a real roller coaster before... and apparently, it did not agree with her.
what a joy it was to clean up too ! NOT. my car still has a faint smell of PUKE... especially in this texas heat and humidity. one can only imagine. wanna go for a ride? LOL
